JB Jewellers began the way most good things in this trade do — quietly, between people who already trusted one another. A watch found for a friend. Then for their brother. Then for someone three countries away who had heard the name and nothing else.
Seven years on, that has not changed as much as you might expect. There is no shop floor and no window display. What there is instead is a newly refurbished private office in Hertfordshire — secure, appointment-only, and built for looking at watches properly rather than selling them quickly — a pair of white gloves, and a phone that is answered by the person who will actually handle your watch.
Every piece is inspected in hand before it is offered, and most are delivered the same way. If that means a flight, we take the flight.
We are not brand-affiliated, and we do not pretend to be. What we are is accountable — one name, one company number, one person who answers.
Three services, one standard. Nothing leaves without being seen, weighed and checked against its papers.
Pieces from current stock, held in the office and viewable by appointment. Papers, boxes and service history laid out before anything is agreed.
An outright offer, or consignment if you would rather wait for the right number. You will be told which of the two serves you better, even when it is the one that pays us less.
For the piece that is not in stock and not in a shop. Tell us the reference, the dial, the year and the condition you will accept — then let it be found properly.
Everything below is physically in the office today. Prices are quoted in pounds sterling and include VAT under the margin scheme.
